  • About the event

GDG DevFest’17 which is a community-run event that offer speaker sessions across multiple product areas, all day hack-a-thons, code labs and much more.

We have a mission to provide students and upcoming entrepreneurs with
a free and open platform to develop, compete and present their ideas.
We need your support so that we can nurture the young and upcoming
minds. In return we have some exciting marketing venues.

The DevFest 2015 conducted by us had the likes of Mr. Subhashih Ghosh, Associate Principal Consultant, Amazon Web Services commencing the session and a few speakers from GDG VIT sharing their technical knowledge. It was attended by an enthusiastic crowd of 70. This DevFest we are focused on providing students and upcoming entrepreneurs with a free and open platform to develop, compete and present their ideas. We are expecting a crowd of 200 students.

The event will have a 24-hour hack-a-thon and a 12-hour idea-thon running side-by-side. We will be providing the participants with a problem statement (in domains such as enivronment issues, health issues, technological issues, business related problem statements etc.) to which they will have to provide a solution for in terms of an application, website, VR game or something else.

The event will be conducted in October and is expected to have a turnover of more than 200 students from Chennai, Bangalore, Pondicherry and other cities from South-India.

    Why should you sponsor?

Here at GDG, we believe in using technology to benefit everyone around us and spreading knowledge in this domain has always been our priority. With this event, we are aiming to help developers use the best resources to develop new age applications and technologies which solve problems. We hope that this event is worthy of your support and cooperation.

I am member of Google Developers Group VIT-Vellore. I have been a part of GDG-VIT for more than 2 years now. I have worked on many projects myself and one of them being "Relief Chennai" where we offered help to people who were stuck in the city during the time of floods. Apart from that, I have worked on the Google Online Marketing Challenge, where being a member of a team, I helped the company promote its products via AdWords where we analysed and optimized the marketing strategy of the company and helped them gain profits.

I can assure you that the events we are conducting are in a good spirit and we as a team work for the betterment of the community and we want you to be a part of this.
