Pleasant View is organizing a Designer Bag Bingo Night to benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Harrisonburg AMVETS Post #7 Saturday, April 23rd, 2022. We would like to invite you to be a sponsor this year. All the profits from the Bingo Night will go directly to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing funds that help pay for life enhancing camp, entertainment, and travel experiences. The last Bingo Night grossed $9,006.00.
A trip we took to Baltimore Aquarium this fall.
Our Mission:
Pleasant View supports individuals who have disabilities in living out their own goals for meaningful work, relationships, and spiritual development.
Vision Statement:
All people will have the opportunity to live in
and enrich their communities.
Pleasant View is a 501(C)(3) (EIN 54-0887738) nonprofit agency supporting individuals with developmental disabilities since 1971. We have 6 residential settings, 2 day support programs, and we are one of the largest private nonprofit providers of services for people with intellectual disabilities in Virginia. We provide residential and day support to people with disabilities throughout Harrisonburg, Rockingham, Augusta, and Shenandoah Counties. We currently serve approximately 45 people in residential programs. We are helping individuals with disabilities live in their home community, find employment, participate in fulfilling volunteer work, and become true members of their community.
I hope you will consider being a sponsor for our Bingo Night. Thank you, in advance, for your time and consideration. Check out our Facebook page (@pleasantviewinc) and website to see some of the great things we are doing.
Thank-you,
Lindsey Randolph & Allison Powell
Social Workers
Since March 1971, Pleasant View started providing individuals who have developmental disabilities an alternative to large institutional living by opening smaller community-based homes. With over 50 years of experience, Pleasant View supports individuals who have disabilities in living out their goals for meaningful work, relationships, and spiritual development.
The pandemic continues to affect the way we provide community-based supports to individuals who have developmental disabilities. We continue to evaluate, adapt, and evolve our service delivery.
My name is Lindsey Randolph and I have been a Social Worker at Pleasant View for 5 years. I started off working directly with adults with intellectual disabilities and quickly climbed the ladder and then settled into the Social Worker role after 10 months. I studied Social Work at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
These funds will go directly to the Resident Activity Fund at Pleasant View. This fund allows our income-challenged individuals to participate in recreational activites that they would otherwise not be able to afford. This is the 3rd annual event and I have participated in each one and I have an expanded role to help with sponosrships. I hope that you will help our agency support our indvidiuals to live meaningful lives in the community.
