Delta Academy Nutcracker Tea & Ballet,

About the event

We are wanting to take each young lady to the Nutcracker Tea held at the O'Henry Hotel $48 as well as The Nutcracker Ballet $15.  The tea is a great way to expose each young lady to an age-old English custom.  This tea will allow each young lady the opportunity socialize formally, enjoy the entertainment provided, and receive a trinket for their participation.  The Ballet is glue that will bond each event together.  It is important that our youth make connections to, and build knowledge through their experiences.  The performance is being held at the High Point Theatre, and we feel that each young lady will benefit greatly from this prodigious event.  The price for each participant for both events will be $63.  

Why should you sponsor?

Each sponsor will play a role in the enrichment of a young mind.  The young ladies of Delta Academy’s theme this year is “Promoting servant leadership while developing culture & class."  It is our goal to broaden each participant’s experiences in culture and the arts.  Our annual project, "Bags for Seniors," is one of tremendous impact to the community.  Each young lady gains servant leadership experience with this project.  However, we would like to increase their exposure to proper social propriety by taking each young lady to the ballet and tea.  We feel that this would be a life-changing experience for each young lady but we need your assistance.

Delta Academy is one of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority INC youth programs.  This program is for middle school age young women ages 11 - 14.  Delta Academy was created out of an urgent sense that bold action was needed to save our young women from the perils of academic failure, low self-esteem, and crippled futures.  Delta Academy provides an opportunity for local chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority INC to enrich and enhance the education that our young teens receive in public schools across the nation.
