About the event

Dance Marathon at High Point University is a student-led philanthropic

organization that benefits Duke Children's Hospital, our local Children's

Miracle Network Hospital. Students involved with Dance Marathon raise

awareness and funds through year-round community and campus-wide

events for the kids (FTK) culminating in our Main Event on March 21,

2020.

High Point University Dance Marathon's Main Event is a high energy 4-hour event in honor of the Miracle Children and their families. Participants learn an easy-to-follow dance, listen to and watch various entertainers, and hear stories from our Miracle families. Miracle families from the hospital join participants in games, fun, and celebration before the final total is revealed in an emotionally rewarding closing ceremony. This year, the Main Event will take place on March 21, 2020, from 11 am to 3 pm on High Point University's campus.

Why should you sponsor?

Both Brodie and Ridge were diagnosed with Plyocytic Astrocytoma - inoperable brain tumors - as toddlers in 2015. Their families did not know each other before they each began seeking treatment at Duke Children's. The energetic boys met while receiving weekly chemotherapy at Duke Children's and have been best buds ever since! Both boys look forward to going to Duke Children's because of the hospital staff and the fun programs provided for patients. They make friends with everyone they meet. Brodie's favorite colors are red and blue. He enjoys all sports, especially those involving throwing and catching balls, and loves watching Paw Patrol. Ridge loves the color red, Mickey Mouse, swinging, swimming, and visiting fire departments and fire trucks. Your support and generosity allows Duke Children's to provide the best possible care for kids like Brodie and Ridge. Thank you for supporting the patients at Duke Children's.

As a quick introduction, my name is Kasey Meyer and I am a student at High Point University. I am the partnership and fundraising chair of Dance Marathon at HPU that benefits Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
