The Cumbrian Challenge is Walking With The Wounded’s fun and testing, flagship, annual fundraising event in the Lake District for teams of four – with every team that takes part supporting another wounded veteran back into work.
Predominantly corporate teams compete against our inspirational wounded servicemen and women including our expedition teams over one of three routes - The Peak, The Tough and The Tougher - with an option for all abilities.
Each team is also challenged to fundraise £1,000 (£250 per person) for Walking With The Wounded’s programmes as part of their team-building preparation. If they hit a strive target of £2,000 then each team can support another veteran back into work.

Finding long-term employment is one of the biggest challenges facing wounded servicemen and women hoping to lead a normal life after severe injury.
Walking With The Wounded supports vulnerable veterans with physical, mental or social injuries on their journey to long-term security, independence and employment.
As well as our fundraising events we stage extreme expeditions, entirely funded by corporate sponsorship, to highlight the extraordinary determination and courage of these inspirational people.
These include the North Pole (2011), Everest (2012), South Pole (2013) and the Walk Of Britain (2015) - with the Cumbrian Challenge being used as training for the expedition members and a key opportunity for the expedition teams to meet supporters and media.
We would like to invite you to consider starting or continuing on a journey with us by supporting the Cumbrian Challenge in 2016.
