Cross Canada Solo Flight,

About the event

My name is Aidan Charles and I am a 16 year old recreational pilot. Flying has been a passion of mine since a young age. At 14 years old I got my first job and used the money I had earned to start flight training. At 15 I first flew solo and continued training to receive my recreational permit shortly after my 16th birthday.

This summer 2017, I plan to fly across the country and back in an effort to raise money for the national charity Hope Air.

I will be completing the 10,400-kilometer journey in an advanced ultralight I am currently rebuilding with the help of King George Aviation.

A trip of this magnitude would not be possible without the help of sponsors and donations to Hope Air.

Why should you sponsor?

As Canadians, we have the luxury of universal healthcare. However for some Canadians with complicated conditions requiring care in a major city this is made difficult when they are making a low income in the far reaches of the country. Hope Air bridges these individuals with the care they need by providing free flights.

Supporting me on this cause would help many Canadians without access to the care we all deserve.

Since an early age, I have found enjoyment in helping others. At 14 I was involved in a volunteer trip to Ecuador where with a small team we helped the small community of Mondana build the foundation of a school.

I have been involved in multiple volunteering events and have volunteered hundreds of hours of my time teaching children how to sail.
