About the event
Overtake Productions will be organizing it's annual event, Create your own opportunity. Create your own opportunity is an event that allows up and coming playwrights, the opportunity to showcase their talent on a platform they would otherwise not have. With the success of our first event in 2014, the production of, Saving Michael, your support in the form of sponsorship should be of great help for successfully organizing this event.
This event is designed to provide undiscovered writers the experience of bringing their work to life, to give their work a voice and develop their skills and enhance their resilience as writers of a new generation. By proactively supporting this event you will contribute to an innovative event that supports the skills development of a new generation of writers and actors while strengthening and building your customers loyalty.
The Create your own opportunity event will provide sponsors the opportunity to reach new customers, we will provide sponsors with opportunities to promote their services to our many theater goers and staff through our website, program, flyers, ads and introduction of your merchandise prior to the beginning of the play.
The Create your own opportunity event was launched May 30th, 2014 by Overtake Productions. The first play produced was, Saving Michael, written by an up and coming writer Georgiana Anwuzia and opened to great reviews. Ticket for the play were sold out and overflowed due to successful promotion on social media, local newspaper, lots of prayer and word of mouth. Making the first year a huge success. The play allowed African American actors to expand on their acting skills and enter a new territory with the skills they already embodied, it gave an up and coming writer a voice that otherwise would not have been heard, to tell a faith based story that was drastically different from other faith based stories.
The Create your own opportunity event attracts anyone that is interested in a new way of telling a story that is relatable, thought provoking and inspirational and we look forward to doing it again in 2015 with your support.Why should you sponsor?
