"Get your party hats on, folks! The Coronation Big Lunch Party on Our Street is happening on Sunday 7th May from 12 PM to 10 PM

This is the party that's right up your street, and everyone's invited! 

Hosted by Eden Project Communities, the Big Lunch is a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends, tuck into delicious food and celebrate the Coronation! We're particularly excited as we'll be joining thousands of communities across the UK in this official celebration!

We're proud to be bringing our local community together to share a plentiful lunch, lively music, and some good old fashioned fun and games. All you need to do is bring along some sweet or savoury treats to share - homemade goodies would be amazing! Don't forget to label your dish with the ingredients list or bring along your recipe, so we can all take your wonderful cooking suggestions home with us!

Our aim is to bring together as many like-minded locals as possible for an afternoon of fun, and we'd love to have you there. Make sure you stop by our website to RSVP and let us know what you'd like to contribute. Remember, we can't do it without you! 

Join us for the Coronation Big Lunch Party on Sunday 7th May at 12 PM, an exciting community event that's sure to bring joy and excitement to everyone in the area. With a range of activities, games, and entertainment planned, this event is the perfect opportunity to bring together people from all walks of life and celebrate our diverse community.

With an expected turnout of 100-200 people from a mixed demographic of different nationalities, including students, professionals, job seekers, and families, the Coronation Big Lunch Party promises to be a truly inclusive and diverse event. Attendees will enjoy a range of activities, from quizzes and poetry to performances and drumming. There will even be table tennis and coloring activities for children to enjoy.

We are pleased to announce that BBC News will be there at 10:30 to get set up and then to capture the atmosphere where the Queen’s Road residents are setting up for lunch.

BBC would love to speak to an array of people taking part, from young children to older people and British people to people born overseas who have now made Queen’s Road their home

The event has already generated significant media coverage, with the BBC highlighting the event and showcasing it during the Coronation concert Livestream between 9 pm and 10 pm. This coverage is sure to attract even more attendees and make the event even more memorable.

In addition to the exciting activities planned, the event also features a range of food vendors offering delicious treats and refreshments. With a few vendors and stalls already confirmed, this is a great opportunity for businesses to get involved and promote their offerings to a diverse audience.

Previous events held by the organizers include monthly book club meetings, birthday parties, dinners, games nights, and table tennis tournaments. These events have been well-received by the community and have helped to foster a sense of belonging and connection. Previous funding includes a £1000 grant awarded by Table Tennis England in August 2022 and a £3000 grant awarded by Mifriendly Cities in March 2019 for boosting confidence in the local community.
