About the event
"Color Me" is a racially themed play by Kasmine Roach, and it focuses on Stella and Mariah, two freshmen girls in college. Stella is a true southern girl who was unknowingly raised with racist morals and values. Mariah is black and she was raised in a very wealthy suburb in Georgia.
Dark secrets come to light when Stella meets Mariah. Through their differences, they soon realize how much they're alike. Even in the midst of a world full of hate, they find a way to face racism and learn new things, hidden secrets, and even tragedies that change their lives forever.
This is a play to inspire people to look racism in the face and change it's negative effect on our society. Every situation in this play is based off of real life circumstances that were ripped from today's headlines or that have happened to Kasmine personally.
If you like normal, then this is not the play for you. You don't just watch it but you EXPERIENCE it. This is a play to spark a REAL conversation between people, politically incorrect and all, and to look racism in the face.
