Dyal Singh College University Of Delhi, Pragati Vihar, New Delhi, Delhi, India Dyal Singh College University Of Delhi, Pragati Vihar, New Delhi, Delhi, India

  • About the event

"1st Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia Memorial Parliamentary Debate"

The event is a Debating Tournament that follows the Asian-Parliamentary Format. It will take place under "Coeus" (the annual Debating and Quizzing Festival of the Debating/Quizzing Society of Dyal Singh College, Delhi University), over a span of three days (30/03/2019 - 1/04/2019).

The tournament will provide an opportunity for people to come together and discuss on a vast variety of subjects of general interest. These topics range from politics to sciences, commerce to fiction, philosophy to international relations, etc to provide a broad range of debatable topics for  the college students from all the walks of lives, different courses (from Engineering to Sociology) who have an extensive set of ideas, opinions and beliefs on different matters. These millenials meet in big numbers and compete with utmost enthusiasm to take the prizes home for themselves. The participant pool also includes Ex-College pass-out students.

We are going to host participants from all across the University of Delhi, including all other colleges that are situated in Delhi. The colleges and universities include the likes of Sri Ram Sollege of Commerce (SRCC), Miranda House, Hindu College, Hansraj College, St. Stephens, Kirori Mal College, Ramjas College, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS) etc from the North Campus, and Sri Venkateshwara (Venky), Lady Shri Ram College (LSR), Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDUC), Janki Devi Memorial College (JDMC), Zakir Hussain Delhi College, Jesus and Mary College (JMC), Kamla Nehru College (KNC) and MANY more from off-campus colleges.

From outside the Delhi University, we have institutes like IIT Delhi, NLU Delhi, Ambedkar University, Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, etc that are going to participate.

    Why should you sponsor?

The sponsors stand to gain a significant amount of brand promotion upon being given the access to college premises for the said dates on which the tournament has to take place. Although, the number of days the sponsors derive the benefits can extend the span of the tournament, because a quizzing event will succeed this tournament. This access can be in a form of brand logo display and/or a vending kiosk/stall in the campus (check the sponsorship package for details). The college already has over 9,000 students in and of itself. Added to this, we expect a participation from all across different institutions in Delhi.

Apart from physical access to the campus, promotion on the Facebook Page of the society, along with the Facebook Group of the event would cover over 3,000 people. This is bound to help the sponsors further their reach on online social media.

The gentry of invited participants is niche, as they are all the members of the Debating Societies of their respective institues and frequent the activity of debating at various competitions and tournaments themselves.
