4 teachers, at 3 different Colorado high schools, are collaborating to bring interested High School students together for a day of data analysis. Students will be meeting at Colorado State University in Fort Collins on March 7th, 2015. For 6 hours students will learn the importance of the Standard Model, how to analyze data collected by the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, along with a Magnetics Lab tour, and college campus tour. They will spend time analyzing real data to come up with the mass of the Higgs Boson, then videoconference with other Masterclasses happening simultaneously around the world. We need money to cover transportation costs ($1200 for the 2 buses) and breakfast/lunch/snack costs ($200) for our group of 40 students, 4 teachers, and various leaders during the day.
