About the event
The Chickasaw County Instrumental Music Festival (CCIMF) is a music festival that is geared towards showcasing instrumental music. The festival is about creating a family friendly environment and also about inspiring more youth to become involved in music and the arts. There in Houston, MS and some of the surrounding areas, the interest level in playing and appreciating music has been decreasing over the years. With this festival we hope to inspire and motivate people.
"Being from the small town of Houston Ms, and now living in Atlanta GA, I now see how extremely important it is to be exposed to something different. Creativity and expression are triggered by things that you see and experience. It is my passion to do everything in my power to make sure I can show this next generation that they have options. Most people will replicate what they've seen, and If their vision has been limited their options will also be limited. We realize that there are a lot of young ,talented , up and coming musicians there in MS who just simply need a chance and exposure. With CCIMF we're able to do just that. We'll get them on their way to a potential career in music if that's their desire. All while exposing them to other professional musicians who can enlighten them." - Jermaine Morgan
Here is how this event is setup. We give local acts a platform to showcase their musical skills throughout the day. We also book other professional acts as the main attraction for the evening. There are many different genres of music that happen throughout the day. So this event is not catered to just one group of individuals. In past events we've had music genres including Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Blues, Country, Gospel, Southern Gospel, Christian, Christian Rock, Jazz Fusion and much more...
We've promoted our sponsors by either showcasing their banner on the stage, on the grounds of the event, on the T-shirts and other paraphernalia, and also Facebook and our event website http://ccimf.net/become-a-sponsor/ .
This will be our fourth year of hosting this event free to the public. We have seen a substantial growth each year that we host this event, and it's definitely gaining momentum. It is our hope that you will become a sponsor and help us continue to do great work in this community and in Northeast MS.
