About the event

ChaserConCanada is in the early stages of becoming an annual event for Canadian storm chasers. Our first conference, in 2015, was a great success; we had over 75 attendees from across Canada ... almost half of whom travelled over 500 miles to attend. We also had local media show up and panelists from the weather forecasting departments of two major Canadian media outlets. Since many of our attendees have large followings on Twitter, our combined reach for the event was quite far.

At the event, we discuss weather forecasting techniques, a few of the more significant weather events over the years, challenges in the broadcast and meteorology industries as well as photography techniques and a lot of the citizen science that goes on.

Why should you sponsor?

Our attendee demographics are quite broad. People are also all across the employment spectrum: labour, office, education, photographers, stay-at-home. Many of our attendees have Twitter followings in the thousands, with monthly impressions in the hundreds of thousands, which can be directed toward your brand during our event.

This year we're planning to hold our event in Edmonton, Alberta on first weekend of October. We're expecting about 100 to 125 attendees this year. Last year, we had a hail-repair company and a weather-equipment company. For sponsorships, we're seeking $100, $250, $500, open contributions or swag in exchange for promotional opportunities via our website, social media and at the event.

Chaser Con Canada 2016 offers everyone, of any skillset, interested in severe weather across Canada the opportunity to discuss all things storm-chasing north of the 49th.

The Night Before - Show and Tell
While the main event is scheduled for Saturday, on Friday night we'll have our year-in-review show-and-tell, in the TWoSE Planetarium, graciously sponsored by the Telus World of Science.
