  • About the event

    Our names are Michael Connelly and Terrance Hampton, Co-Chairman of Charity Brands Universal. Charity Brands Universal will host its Inaugural Fundraiser May 10, 2024 at a rented house in Charlotte, NC, but preferably a water front property at Lake Norman. Charity Brands Universal will be selecting (3) Charlotte based nonprofit organizations to fundraise for at the Inaugural Fundraiser. These (3) nonprofit organizations will have no financial obligations in hosting the fundraiser, but they will partake in a revenue share of the proceeds raised during the event. We would love sponsorship because in this business model we believe that with the help of individual and corporate sponsors we can make a monumental impact on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community by relieving the financial burden of hosting fundraisers off of the nonprofits shoulders. Terrance being a Matthew’s, NC native this fundraiser means a great deal to him because it will be the announcement of Charity Brands Universal’s company move to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area! This event will be a great indicator of who we are and what impact we plan to have on the community in the philanthropy space.

    Terrance's business mentor Doug Lebda, CEO of Lending Tree, will be co-hosting the event and his team will be taking care of the guest list to ensure we have the most philanthropic charged guests in Charlotte-Mecklenburg area in attendance. The fundraiser will consist of a silent auction containing prizes that range from (4) international destinations and (2) US destinations, (5) foursome golf outings across the state of NC, (5) Spa Days/Treatments in the city of Charlotte, sports memorabilia from various  North Carolina universities and sports legends and we are currently working with Mercedes-Benz USA in regards to obtaining a sedan to raffle off at this event as well!

    Sponsorship money will be used to create a web page for the event (to accept ticket/plate purchases, donations and bids for silent auctions), Welcome Bags for guests, entertainment and any other operations costs that we may incur. We are offering 4 levels of sponsorship packages (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum). Below you can find the list of sponsorship opportunities pricing and what they include. All sponsors will receive (2) tickets/plates for representatives of their organization to the event.

    Why should you sponsor?

    We believe that you should sponsor this event because of the impact it will have on the community. We will be raising funds for not one, but three nonprofits at one event. Our company's business model of creating partnerships with corporate entities who are willing to sponsor events alongside our company will help change the model of how fundraising and galas are done in the US. With our model no longer will nonprofits who cannot afford or garner sponsorship to host their own fundraisers or gala type event. They will now be able to apply for our services in which we influx our brand's capital with our corporate sponsor's capital and group them with other nonprofits in the area and host them a fundraiser where the nonprofits share in the revenue of proceeds, all without a cost to the nonprofit. All we would ask of the nonprofits is to send 1-2 representatives of the organization to make a speaking engagement and mingle with our guests. We will utilize our rolodex to secure our high net worth clients to co-host these events and their teams will be in charge of the guest lists to ensure that the most philanthropic guests will be in attendance at the fundraisers. With your help we can impact not only more nonprofit organizations per event but create a solution to a humongous problem in the nonprofit sector.


    Terrance Hampton

    My name is Terrance Hampton, Co-Chairman of Charity Brands Universal. Charity Brands Universal is an affiliate company of Charity Brands, who has raised $13B+ for nonprofits over the past 3 decades.

    I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. My parents are Claudette Parham who was SVP of Human Resources at Lending Tree until her retirement, my father Leonard Hampton currently works for Encova Insurance as a regional manager. As a child I excelled in basketball and had the opportunity to play in college. I graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a bachelor's degree in Sociology in December 2015. Upon graduation I relocated to Colorado where I opened a cannabis cultivation and extraction lab becoming the youngest owner/operator in the state of Colorado. 

    I began working with Charity Brands a little under 2 years when my current Co-Chairman of Charity Brands Universal, Michael Connelly approached me about the opportunity.  As cliche as it sounds at 32 years old success in the cannabis industry hasn't been as fulfilling as it once was because it does not give me the opportunity to help as much as I'd like to, of course donations to the right causes is a wonderful feeling. But, lately I've been wondering how I can do more which birthed Charity Brands Universal, the opportunity to use my capital, my resources, my connections, and my drive to impact as much social change as possible. 
     

    When I was 12 and playing AAU basketball my mother would give me $200 for our weekend road trips. I would always come home penniless every weekend. One weekend my mother asks me for her change and I give her my same "I spent it all" and she stopped me and asked me "Terrance, what could you possibly be spending $200 on every weekend, that money is for your food." What my mother didn't know is I would always buy things for my less fortunate teammates from food to socks to whatever they needed until I was tapped. She told me she loved me, but wanted her change from now on and I got the speech that our bank accounts are separate and if I wanted to help people I needed my own money. Charity Brands Universal is just that to me, putting my money in a place where it can do nothing but good to improve not only the lives of my community but the lives of individuals I may never have the honor of meeting.
