    About the Event

The Centennial Celebration will feature a Journey through History, presentation of scholarship awards, a silent auction, guest speaker and will honor 23 Women of Impact. The women of impact are sorority members who are leaders, philanthropists, creators, and influencers. They are women who are making or have made big strides in their careers and impact in their communities. They have made an impact in sorority (or fraternal) life through their volunteer engagement.  They value fostering relationships, believe in supporting one another and are authentic. They engage, inspire and empower women through their intentional desire to make an impact. Individually and collectively they represent what it means to live the Panhellenic values on a daily basis.

    Why should you sponsor?

Sponsors have the unique ability to brand their organization to thousands of women across the state of Arizona. The event will also feature high profile women in Arizona. Any company that cares about empowering women should get involved.

Join us as we Celebrate the 100th year of the Phoenix Alumnae Panhellenic

In 1920 Phoenix would see its first skyscraper, the Heard Building, Arizona had only been a state for eight years and sorority women formed Phoenix Panhellenic Association (known as Pan-Hellenic Club at the time). None of the NPC sororities had formed Phoenix alumnae groups in 1920, so Phoenix Panhellenic Association provided sisterhood and other events that would be available to any sorority women in the area.

At the business meeting in February 1920, Miss Margaret Mae Hurley was elected the first President of the Pan-Hellenic Club. At that meeting, eight Greek letter societies were represented by the 21 women in attendance. It was decided to have meetings on the last Saturday of every month. These meetings usually featured a luncheon with members playing Bridge after. All Greek letter women were invited to attend each month. And so starts the 100-year history of Phoenix Panhellenic Association.

Today, we have 26 member organizations with 64 delegates. Collectively we represent almost 1,000 alumnae women in Phoenix (and surrounding areas) with a range of ages from 20's-80's,  all members having attended a college or university. In 2018, we had over 4,500 volunteer hours logged! Collectively, we strive to enhance the fraternity system through scholarship awards, annual educational informational functions for potential new members, philanthropic projects, community participation, and civic leadership. Since 1975, Phoenix Panhellenic Association has raised over $800,000 for scholarships awarded to collegians and alumnae continuing their education in the state of Arizona. Since 2016, 26 percent of the scholarships were awarded to students pursuing majors in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM). The Phoenix Panhellenic Association offers alumnae members leadership, social and philanthropic volunteer opportunities for continued sorority involvement beyond the college years.
