About the event
On May 2, 2020, the Rotary Club of El Cajon Sunset will host "Connecting Africa: Building Goodwill & Better Friendships" May 2, 2020, at the University of San Diego/ the Joan B Kroc Peace & Justice Institute., in celebration of our 32nd year of service to refugees and immigrants arriving from the continent of Africa residing in El Cajon and San Diego's East County areas.
We will honor other Rotarians and community organizations who have also made significant contributions through their service and community outreach projects.
Funds raised from the event will provide our Club with the matching funds to acquire District and Global Designated Funds from Rotary International for future projects.
Why should you sponsor?
Rotary International celebrates 115th this year and has grown to over 1.2 million members and 35,000 Clubs around the world. We are rated the highest on Charity Navigator as our Foundation continues to "do good around the world". Our District and Clubs are world leaders in making a difference in the lives of others through our Global (International) Grants and District Grants.
We are able to do this through the District Designated Funds we receive annually from The Rotary Foundation. These funds come from the donations to the Annual Fund our District Rotarians and friends of Rotary give to the Foundation every year.
Supporting this event will provide our club with the funding we need to match for District and Global Grant Designated Funds in support of our District (local) and Global projects.
