About the event
Reading Legacies has two programs (Family Connections and Community Connections) that address the following needs:
1. The need to empower and encourage at-risk youth through meaningful opportunities in their families and local communities
2. The need for young children to develop an interest in books and reading
3. The need to provide accessible and exemplary adult role models for children and youth
4. The desire/need for community members to engage in supportive activities for the children and youth of their local community.
Our strategy is to surround children and youth with supportive family members and exemplary community role models who will regularly participate in this shared-reading experience with them. To that end, we have established the two programs reaching into areas where at-risk children, youth, and families can be positively impacted with our curriculum and processes.
Reading Legacies is looking to host an event to share how we are making a difference in the community and to thank our donors and volunteers for their generous contributions and commitment.
