About the event

The Business Brunch and Learn: A Wealth Building Seminar for Entrepreneurs was created to address the complaints of entrepreneurs, Thousands of entrepreneurs are entering the world of business every year and 90% of them come in unprepared. No solid financial background or plan, no relationships with bankers, attorneys, or insurance people to protect and grow their business. Last but not least they lack the money mindset to make and keep their money. This event will address all of those problems while empowering attendees to take full control of their financial future and build sustainable generational wealth. It is extremely important for black business owners to gain the necessary information to build wealth and successful businesses. 

Why should you sponsor?

August is National Black Business Month. This event is organized by a black woman owned tax and financial consulting firm. By promoting and supporting Black-owned businesses, this month-long observance plays a crucial role in creating economic empowerment and financial independence within the Black community.

One significant impact of National Black Business Month is its contribution to addressing the racial wealth gap.

Historically, systemic racism and discriminatory practices have hindered access to resources, funding, and opportunities for Black entrepreneurs, resulting in lower levels of wealth and economic mobility within the Black community.

This leads to many black businesses going out of business in the early stages and never getting the chance to become profitable or successful.

Here are some statistics that prove how important this matter is:

• Federal Reserve numbers show that 80.2% of white business owners receive at least a percentage of the funding they request from a bank. Only 66.4% of BIPOC (Black, indigenous, or people of color) business owners can say the same.
• The average level of startup capital for Black entrepreneurs is just $35,205. On the other hand, white entrepreneurs report an average of $106,720 of startup capital.
• 79% Black business owners say they’ve had to pay expenses or employees with personal funds at least once in the last two years and are experiencing greater cash flow problems than non-Black-owned businesses according to study by Intuit
• Although 72% of Black-owned firms had existing relationships with small banks, just 28% were fully approved for the PPP financing they sought from these lenders.

This event was designed to help black business owners create a sustainable foundation for building wealth on their own terms while growing their businesses responsibly and profitably.

I'm Alex Davis. I am a local CPA and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, licensed life insurance agent, and graduate of University of South Florida. Go BULLS!! While entrepreneurship isn’t always easy, it can be so rewarding especially with the proper support. I want to do my part to equip other entrepreneurs with the tools to grow a thriving business that lives on for generations to come.
