About the event

BLAS is a non-profit community organisation founded in 1997. We have 11 Committee members comprised of students from the university who come together to create high-profile events in London for cultural development and student involvement.

Our mission is to lead our culturally diverse students to provide quality, accessible cultural events and experiences for students by students. We provide a platform for talented individuals to showcase the Asian cultural arts at its best. Through this we aim to increase contribution to our chosen charities.

Our flagship event is the BLAS Elegance Show which over the past three years has been held at the Barbican Centre, home to The Royal Shakespeare Company & the London Symphony Orchestra located in the heart of London.

BLAS Elegance is the largest student-led university charity show in London. This annual extravaganza helps 250+ students and youth from all across London to showcase their talents in groups or as individuals drawing in 1,000+ attendees. 

Only 65% of our costs are covered by the event ticket sales and another 20% is generated through other activities like merchandise sales, private donations and fundraising events. BLAS needs at least 15% contribution from corporates like yours to make our events possible. BLAS believes in the power of the arts to continue revitalising student communities.
