    THE CONCEPT OF MODEL UNITED NATION:

    As far as MUN is concerned, it is a simulation of the United Nations, which is an intergovernmental organization consisting of 192 countries s in the world. “Model UN” or “MUN” simulates certain bodies of the United Nations, predominantly the deliberative bodies where countries send delegates to meet and discuss international policy on a variety of issues.

     

    What actually is BIMUN’18?

    Bahria Islamabad Model United Nations is a unique project. It provides closer connection between educational institutions in the region, especially between schools and universities. BIMUN‟18 will be an outstanding opportunity, providing a constructive outlet for the best minds from different educational institutions from all over the country.  It is designed  to  provide a  forum  for  open  dialogue  and debate on complex issues carrying global importance. Furthermore, allowing delegates to discuss dynamic yet turbulent global issues threadbare through the MUN prism.

    Suiting the theme, the BIMUN‟18 slogan is „pursuing perpetual peace‟. The BIMUN‟18 has gained the support and patronage of Pakistan Navy. The goal of our conference is to increase and encourage political awareness amongst the youth of our generation.

    Bahria College Islamabad is an educational institute established by the Navy with the purpose of inspiring and elevating the youth of Pakistan.     BIMUN18 is designed to foster a set of skills and sense of community invaluable to the upcoming youth and future leaders of Pakistan It connects student to the academic sphere as well as the business world.  This combination of fun, learning and professionalism is unique from other MUNs. BIMUN18 has two main aims each with specific initiative.

    Our Aim:

    After a successful first edition of BIMUN conducted previously it is to ensure that BIMUN18 has a lasting impact far beyond one weekend and on its delegates, this event will be a significant contribution to the legacy of youth engagement in global issues.

     

     

    Our Strategy:

     

                    To continue the tradition of Model United Nation as a valuable extracurricular experience for tertiary students, and to maintain BIMUN as a regular feature of Islamabad and Pakistan championship calendar.

     

                    To expand the dialogue and cooperation between student societies and community organization.

     

    2)  ENGAGEMENT

     

    Our Aim:

    To engage student interest in global issues and to promote positive, innovative problem solving , this will encourage and empower young people to become active global citizens and positive contributors to their communities.

     

    Our Strategy:

    To offer engaging focused, contemporary topics in formats that increase delegate participation and comprehension of global issue.

    To nurture lifelong skills in writing, speaking,  listening and negotiating.

I'm currently studying in the very same college this event is supposed to take place in, and I'm in my second year of Fsc.
