About the event

Water is referred as to be the second name for life. However, unlike human life this resource can be renewed to be used inexhaustibly, but the contemporary man-made crisis has globally become so serious that if the situation is not taken care of, the human existence may dry up sooner than it actually agnises. In this alarming situation Margan has decided to return a favour to mother earth and has planned to organize a social awareness program, covering a vast area from the cultural capital to the political capital of the country, through an expedition. This awareness program majorly intends to call for the sustainable preservation of water and water resources. Acknowledging the fact that no natural resource is greater than the other in its life-supporting value, the said expedition is planned to be made entirely on bicycle to eliminate any chance of air pollution (through remission of carbon-gases) or sound pollution (through blare honking) during the fulfillment of this social cause.

Cry of our motherland echoed in the speeches of our Hon’ble President & Prime Minister compelled us to ponder over and carry out this bounden duty to the nation. Now, therefore, it has proposed to organize this Bicycle Expedition from Rajbhawan Kolkata to Rashtrapati Bhawan New Delhi with the message of ‘Save Water – Save Life’ as an inalienable part of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s “Jal Jiwan Mission”. Accordingly, the Team has been thoughtfully made of seven Members of different age groups (from 19 to 50 years) to widen its acceptability ensuring mass participation. The participants will spread awareness and campaign through music, oration, distributing leaflets, postering, digital presentations (wherever feasible) including special emphasize on daily plantation especially in several schools and among small village gatherings during their arduous journey across the states and national union territory.

                           As the said awareness programme through Bicycle Expedition will be an expensive project, Margan, solicits your generous financial support to the best possible extent to convert the endeavour into a grand success.

Besides imparting musical training to the ardent music lovers including students from financially weaker sections of the society, Margan provides study materials including geometry boxes, exercise books etc. to the poor students, clothes to the needy persons and distributes blankets during winter among the struggling people. Despite frail financial strength, Margan donate monthly contribution to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund regularly for the help of the victims of natural calamities.
