About the event
The Belles & Beaus Gala 2016 is a Harlem Renaissance in Houston, celebrating women in business, leadership, and life dressed in Roaring 20s apparel.
This Inaugural Gala is hosted by 1st Ladies Bar, a start-up company in Houston aiming for expansion, brand awareness, and longevity. However, this gala is much more than a publicity stunt as the ladies bring together powerful forces to uplift and encourage women to follow their dreams, become assertive about what SHE wants, and go get it!
Keynote speakers, Dr. Jonita Reynolds and Lynn Clouser-Kelly will grace the stage with their words of wisdom while the DJ and our live performer entertain the party guests and keep us all dancing.
The event will be beautiful and we would love for everyone to come out, men and women alike, and enjoy a luxurious night for a good cause. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to YWCA Houston, eliminating racism and empowering women!
Why should you sponsor?
Our intentions were solely to empower women in such a patriarchal society, and to inspire those whose purpose is to lead to continue leading... Whose purpose to create- to continue creating.
We wanted to create a luxurious night that people would want to invest in! Most men spend over $100 on a normal date; this date night would be a lot fancier and for a good cause.
Many people who wanted to support us couldn't come out because of financial troubles, whether they were prepared for them or not. With a last minute sponsorship, we can allow some of those people to fill in the space and enjoy the gala with us as we celebrate women supporting women!
We have plans to go nationwide as a company by NYE via online services and with brand ambassadors, promotional models, and bartenders in 5 big cities, we can have lots more traffic with not only 1st Ladies Bar's general business operations, but the gala as well. We would love sponsors with longevity and for someone to help us out so last minute, we are willing to claim our sponsors for this year for our gala next year at no extra sponsorship! (See packages)
Kenya HadnotMy name is Kenya Hadnot and I'm a 25 year old, ambitious entrepreneur with dreams of becoming an international event coordinator and serial entrepreneur. Apparently I dream big, and I feel like I can't be stopped. Obstacles are merely tests of my faith. I know that whatever I put my mind to, I can do. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelors in Marketing and a minor in Creative Studies. I love marketing, journalism, arts & entertainment and I plan to be super rich one day. There will be a cash bar, giveaways, and more! Donations can be separate from attendance and a percentage of proceeds will be donated to the YWCA Houston, eliminating racism and empowering women.

This Saturday will be our Inaugural Ball, the Belles & Beaus Gala 2016, empowering women in business, leadership, and life! We've prepared the ultimate vintage date night and celebratory atmosphere for women and men alike to dance the night away to jazzy, upbeat tunes. Our ticket sales didn't go as planned and we only raised $1,500 of the $6,000 needed for the minimum food & drink beverage for the room. The gala is tomorrow and people have bought tickets and outfits and we cannot let them down! We know what we can do to make next year an even bigger success, but we won't give up on our event this weekend! Though we only sold 20 of our goal of 75 tickets, we know the good heart of a donor or investor will change our numbers around drastically. This package will roll over to next year and we will list the sponsor as one of the TITLE sponsors of the event, promote the sponsor on our social media, website, and press releases, and finally, the sponsor will receive a table at the gala this weekend as well as next year!
