  • About the event

During the event, we will introduce the BEE Liberia model to supporters who believe that children in Liberia are in need of quality affordable education. In addition, BEE Liberia will collect school supplies and monetary funds to ship supplies to the schools. We will also highlight fashion designers and artists with culturally competent prints and designs. The event will not only raise awareness of the need and lack of quality and affordable education in Liberia, but will also engage BEE Liberia’s network through Liberian culture, music, food, and fashion.

    Why should you sponsor?

BEE Liberia is partnering with the Olivia S. Washington Schools of Liberia, to support access to education for over 400 impoverished children in Liberia on Friday, September  16, 2016. The Olivia S. Washington Schools of Liberia are institutions dedicated to serving the educational needs of children from Gbarngba Town to Monrovia and surrounding towns. The school's focus over the past decade has been on preparing children from ABC (Pre-K) through 7th grade for a successful future, both academically and socially. BEE Liberia is a non-profit organization that offers and supports educational opportunities, technology, and social services to the underserved youth and communities of Liberia. BEE Liberia was established by a University of Pennsylvania graduate and Liberian immigrant named Olive Massaquoi. Her organization supports over 400 students attending the Olivia S. Washington schools of Liberia. The schools were founded by Olive’s struggling single mother of five girls and have been serving the village and city communities of Monrovia since 2005. We are expecting approximately 200 people to not only raise awareness of the need and lack of quality and affordable education in Liberia, but also to raise funds to keep these children in school and offer them hope. Our vision is to actively assist in promoting a sustainable Liberia in which every child has the opportunity to affordable quality education and social services. So, we are asking that you partner with us to make this vision a reality.
