We would like to welcome you to the third in our 'Meet the Industry' series!
Do interviews make you sweat? Are you unsure about the best way of presenting your CV? Join us for a 2 hour workshop with Matt J. McLaren, a processional head hunter and Executive Director of Access Ambition Recruitment Services, a specialist recruitment consultancy for the UK campaigning sector.

    The Mentor
Matt J. McLaren is the Executive Director & Principal Consultant of Access Ambition Recruitment Services, having founded the business in May 2014.

Matt is an experienced recruitment professional with a strong track record of success recruiting staff for charities and membership associations, up to and including Director-level appointments. Before founding Access Ambition, Matt worked for the award-winning specialist consultancy TPP Recruitment.

In addition to his professional work in recruitment, Matt has previously been a candidate for major public office. Having been active in politics himself, Matt fully understands both the opportunities and difficulties inherent in seeking to affect public policy or deliver social change.

Before building his career in the recruitment industry, Matt graduated with a First Class degree in philosophy from the University of London. He still prides himself on his ability to think and analyse today, hopeful that this may be to the benefit of both Access Ambition’s clients and candidates.

    About Meet the Industry
Meet the Industry is a series of events run by Shout Out UK to help young and old get acquainted with the leaders of the industries they wish to work in. The series of events will include exclusive insight days, informal question and answer meetings and networking events.

    About Shout Out UK
Shout Out UK is an independent news network that, via journalism, film and events, aims to show young people that politics has a direct impact on everything you do in life, with the aim of lowering political apathy among the next generation.
Since our launch in July 2012, we have become one of Britain’s fastest growing alternative and independent news platform, bolstering one of the largest network of young political, cultural and creative writers from all over the globe.

We completed our first film in April 2015, entitled, Anonymous: A Million Men. The documentary was entirely funded by Shout Out UK through crowdsourcing. During filming we had the privilege of interviewing Russel Brand, Conservative MP Chloe Smith and the secretive organisers of the Million Mask March itself.

On the 28th April 2015, Shout Out UK collaborated with Channel 4 and ITN Productions to launch Britain’s first ever Youth Leaders’ Debate. The event, which for the first time ever, gathered together seven leaders of the seven largest British parties’ youth wings to debate on political and youth issues. It aired at 8pm GMT and after 10min the #YouthLeaders was trending in the top six on twitter.
