About the event
The Beats and Bars Festival will feature performances at The Pinhook on Friday, September 16th and on Saturday, September 17th, we'll have panel discussions early in the day at The Vault on Broad Street. Then closing out the festival Saturday night (The Pinhook) with Beat Battle Finale and more dope shows. Both shows will include 1 top up and coming headliner.
Beats
To highlight and show respect for the talent and skill of the producer. The UGC was started off of Beat Battles but we've grown into giving both lanes(MCs and Producers) their due respect. Why not keep the love going at our festival?
Bars
The festival has been created to showcase and highlight several talented hip hop artist in our great state. Too many times I've watched dope MCs be overshadowed or just not acknowledged, that time is over. Sixteen MCs have been chosen from the Mountains all the way to the Sandhills. This will be a great way to bridge the gap and hopefully set the tone for how TRUE hip hop culture is represented in North Carolina.
Over the last 4 years, The Underground Collective has done a great job at keeping a sound ear to real Hip Hop culture and being a "gatekeeper" of it. It's important that we continue to grow to support one anther and protect our culture, while also growing with it.
Why should you sponsor?
There are various needs and concerns in the hip hop culture. The UGC is very dilibert on the events that we put forth to increase awareness and support that artist and producers need. We have to realize there's a need to prepare the persons in this industry and culture need business development and platforms to create the right relationships need to increase their art and cultural goals. Sponsors will support this event because it stands for complete transparency to help those that want to push forward and restore the arts and true hip hop culture.

The Underground Collective is pleased to announce The Beats and Bars Festival 2016 to be held on Friday, September 16th and Saturday, September 17th in Durham, North Carolina. This extraordinary event is filled with a variety of MCs from North Carolina, local food truck vendors, merchandise vendors and panel discussions related to Hip Hop culture.
The Beats and Bars Festival will be held at The Pinhook 117 W. Main Street, Durham, NC and The Vault 1104 Broad Street, Durham, NC in the heart of Downtown Durham. Our festival is the result of a culmination of events held by The Underground Collective over the last four years in the Raleigh-Durham area. Those events include YoNCRaps, The UGC Beat Battle, and That’s the Joint open mic; which all cater to MCs, producers, musicians and hip hop intellectuals. This event is expected to have over 250-500 festival goers in its first year that reach over the triangle area to the piedmont triad areas.

Three (3) all excess passes for both days of the event, one (1) booth space, medium sign near stage, ad placed in our festival program, sponsor logo listing in all printed media, sponsorship mention on stage and business name listed on thank you sign.
- Illmatic ($500)
One (1) all excess pass for both days of the event, business name listed on thank you sign, sponsor name in all printed media, certificate of appreciation and sponsorship mention on stage.
