Beat! Lo-Fi Social is a multi-city music producer showcase and online community based out of both Chicago and Indianapolis. The event happens once a month in each city.
The goal with the Lo-Fi Social is to create a creative environment and community based around active music producers in the Midwest and the world. The event is a gathering that doubles as both a place to catch national touring music producers playing live, but also a place for up-and-comers to be able to showcase their material to their peers. There are weekly music production contests through the community and BDTB, as well as a weekly Chicago terestrial radio show ran by Slot-A. There are aspirations to not only stream the event live, and to have a live-interview-like discussion panel of producers each event, but also to set up an area in the back of the venue for producers to try out various production gear.
Aside from brand exposure to a niche group of individuals highly dedicated to their crafts, this is an event we plan on expanding to more than just two cities in 2017. It's already an amazing feat that we have two cities ready to participate each month, but we have the know-how and experience to bring bedroom music producers, veterans, and general music lovers to the same area to be a part of a unique experience. We're also throwing the event at some of the best venues in each city.
BDTB has a social media reach to approximately 25k followers through various social media outlets, and has been a part of every innovative music production even in Indianapolis since 2010, and has worked with companies such as Red Bull, Oranje Festival, Live Nation, Do317, A3C Festival, and many other companies.
The Beat! community was launched around the first of the year and has already gained more than 600 organic followers, including a large variety of accomplished music producers in their own right.
We expect anywhere from 20-80 people to attend the first Indianapolis event. We expect our promotion to reach AT LEAST 10,000-20,000 people, which will include promotion through our BDTB Facebook (average weekly reach anywhere between 125k-1.5m), Twitter (25k REAL followers through various accounts), Instagram, Slot-A's Beat! Chicago radio show, and our various other online communities.
The Beat! Lo-Fi Social project is fueled by both Slot-A (an accomplished music producer and DJ) and BDTB (http://bringingdowntheband.com), the biggest hip hop counter culture brand and website in Indiana. BDTB has a history of throwing music producer events and working with festivals and other major events.
