About the event

A few years ago Heber was here in Calgary and I got to see him and now with his band. He used to tell me that it would have been good to have his band with him when he performs. With brothers Levi and Jessie, this was a trip he looked forward.

Times change but Heber's music still stays in every Filipino's heart. Tayo'y Mga Pinoy is as close to patriotic to Lupang Hinirang. It makes us very proud to be Filipino. Most of Heber's song are part of experiences of every Filipino. Pasahero is a song about a commuter's daily struggle in Manila. From his Olongapo days performing in bars for US servicemen came a song called Nena, a story of the life of a prostitute. Payag Ka Ba, has an anti-American Base  sentiment. Banyuhay Ni Heber songs mostly talks about social issues but typical Filipino food is mentioned in the Almusal. Karaniwang Tao is all about the common individual. Other notables include Istambay, Paaralan, Kung Walang Pag-Ibig, Tatlong Kahig, Isang Tuka, Tumindig Ka among others. All Banyuhay albums are produced and arranged by Heber.
