Band Against Bullying,

About the event

This event is being held in the wake of a shooting that occured to a young girls home after speaking out for 6 months and no relief to the family. The mother has been attacked, the siblings. Sunday night 3/24/2019, 12 shots rang through thier home, inside were 5 children and 4 adults. Bullets riddled their home just missing their youngest child by inches. As a mother who is fed up our schools and our state need to uphold the laws they have in place. Lack of funding should not be the reason they do not uphold these laws! For my state to be ZERO tolerance on bullying they have done a poor job of instilling this! We are rallying for the schools and police to be held accountable as PA laws and statutes clearly say that parent involvement is NOT required in bullying incidents! Leaving the sole responsibilty of this to the school districts! The number of families that have reached out to me with their stories is heartbreaking!

We are not just trying to have laws implented in our town but to all schools. Bullying laws need to be done on a federal level! as the leaders of our youth we look to them to teach them more than just academics! If they cannot follow their own laws how can they expect our youth to abide?

I'm just a mom who's child is a victim of bullying and feels helpless to the point my child will not tell if it is still continuing. I have gone to the school, which in the end made matters worse for my child, resulting in her being called a tattle tale. There needs to be more done for our children!
