About the event
The Class of the Young and Educated is a Back-2-School Cookout for kids in mainly Baltimore, MD but also around the (D)C-(M)D-(V)A area. We're students who are realizing there are too many adolescents involved in negative acts because of a lack of organized activities and places to house them. At this Cookout, kids will be able to listen to live music, play games along with other kids, receive free giveaways (school supplies and t-shirts), free food and drinks, possibly find a mentor and witness/meet special guest speakers and other special guest.
Why should you sponsor?
We’re a group of college kids whom are currently working to organize a Back-2-School Cookout for a variety group of kids in mainly Baltimore, MD but also around the (D)C-(M)D-(V)A area. Through volunteer efforts, we have gotten to know a number of young kids who are in need of school supplies and a good time with a great experience. Upon finding out that we’re different leveled college kids at different Universities around the world, a number of kids expressed their interest in experiencing an event with different college students from different universities. We have been working with a group of them ourselves for several months now and have been bless to watch them grow, not only in their everyday skills but also in their closeness to one another and their desire to help others as they have been helped by us and others. The support of your organization, along with others, will help us host over 100 children in one setting with positive activities and opportunities. We plan on having approximately 100+ volunteers and spectators in attendance, and try to receive coverage by local newspapers and television stations. We’re anxiously looking forward to great success at this event.

We plan on having this cookout at a park in Baltimore, MD and we need to buy a park permit. Included in this pricing is the cost for the park and the DJ: - $350 (cost to rent the DJ) - $250 (cost to rent the park)

The food sponsor will be giving us money so we can purchase the food and drinks that will be given out to the children at the cookout. Included in this cost is the purchase of the food, drinks and coolers: - $75 (cost to rent the coolers to keep food and drinks cold) - $2,500 (food and drinks to supply at the cook out)

This donation will go towards the fun and giveaways which will be at the cookout. Broken up amongst the three categories the cost will be $5,260 which includes: - $1,500 (school supplies) - $1,760 (400 t-shirts with a special and encouraging message for the kids to always remember) - $2,000 (fun and games (ex. inflatables, carnival games, etc))
