About the event
AzeCON is the first biggest Azerbaijan Anime Convention to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on the 20th of July in 4-star hotel Qafqaz Baku City Hotel and Residences for 5 hours. The Convention is organized by Azerbaijan Anime Community which was established in 2009 now with more than 700 members.
Last year we had a pre-fest event held in December in LN Art center where 180 participants attended with more than 20 cosplayers. To see more on our previous Cosplay event, please see below links:

Our core context comprises "cosplay" ("costume playing")- the modern element of Japanese culture. As a word, AzeCON is the combination of Azerbaijan and "Convention" of which the agenda covers not only Cosplay competition and Cosplay show, but also different activities, such as: anime-manga figure sale stand, Swap stand, Charity stand, karaoke, dances, scenes, and photo shooting sessions. We got this experience and inspiration from Torucon which is Turkish Anime Convention and were in the organizing team of the event. It is a great challenge and experience to bring that convention to Baku, Azerbaijan and our aim is to develop the growing interest to Anime in Azerbaijan, build network with Cosplayers and create visibility and opportunities for them for branding.
AzeCON '14 event agenda is as following:
13:00 Festival opening (AAC presentation and info on anime, opening of stands (manga-anime sale stand, sponsor stands, swap stand, charity stand)
13:15-14:15 AMV (Animated Music Video) display on screen prepared by AAC members
14:30-16:30 - COSPLAY competition
16:30-17:15 Anime music karaoke
17:30 Award Ceremony (first 3 places)
18:00 Mini AAC concert, flying out wish lanterns
