Training day for Drivers

In terms of fatalities, 2008 was a
historic low for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, recording the lowest number of
fatalities in the past 60 years.

Unfortunately since then, road
accident fatalities have yet again been increasing. Despite the efforts of the
Luxembourgish Governement and numerous

organisations in the field of road
safety, be it through prevention campaigns, or via an increased police
presence, 42 people died during road accidents in 2013,

which makes for a nearly 30%
increase of fatalities in comparison to 2012.



As young drivers aged 18-24 years
old, statistically make up 25% of all the fatal accidents on our roads, we
brought to life

the first and only national road
safety training event: AUTOCENTER GOEDERT YOUNG DRIVERS DAY, in June 2011,

in an effort to raise awareness,
improve their knowledge and better their driving skills.



Our year-long planning for the
first edition of the ACGYDD coincided with the World Health Organisation (WHO)
and the Fédération Internationale de

l‘Automobile (FIA) global campaign
called „decade of action“ (2011-2021) aimed at raising awareneSs and lowering
the number of road accidents,

launched on 11th May 2011.



Due to its success and high
acceptance level amongst the participants, ACGYDD quickly became THE road
safety event, young drivers did not want to miss.



Having channelled so much energy in
providing a national road safety training day for young drivers, we felt we
could not leave out adult drivers any longer.

Given the fact that people having
completed their driving licence prior to 1995, would probably never have
experienced

the Centre de Formation pour
Conducteurs (CFC) in Colmar-Berg, we decided to extend what started as a 1-day
road safety traing event for young drivers,

into a 2-day event  for everyone. AUTOCENTER GOEDERT YOUNG
DRIVERS DAY is therefore changing its‘ name to AUTOCENTER GOEDERT SAFETY DAYS
