This upcoming year we are celebrating our 15th anniversary at Colorado State University. We are recognizing years of hard work and sisterhood. As part of our event we are hosting a silent auction for our members and proceeds will be donated to our philanthropy.
Proceeds will be donated to the following organizations which align with our philanthropy and values: National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Asian Girls Ignite.
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence's mission is to lead, mobilize and raise the voices or survivors of domestic violence to support efforts that demand a change of conditions that lead to domestic violence such as patriarchy, privilege, racism, sexism, and classism. They are dedicated to supporting survivors and holding offenders accountable and supporting advocates.
Asian Girls Ignite is a locally based non-profit currently only serving in Colorado. AGI’s mission is to build a strong community of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) girls and women by celebrating their individual and collective power through shared stories. AGI offers educational programs that are centered around storytelling, based on social-emotional learning, inspired by AAPI culture and history, and mostly co-designed by AAPI girls. It’s through these shared stories that we elevate our voices, explore our identities, and care for our wellbeing.
Alpha Phi Gamma emerged in the Fall of 1993 and became a reality on February 1, 1994, as the first Asian American Interest Sorority on the campus of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The Founders are Allex Choi, Candy Cunanan, Christine Nguyen, Sandie Rillera, Kolleen Kim, Grace Hsieh and Jennifer Oku. These Sisters wanted to bring together all women of different nationalities through the bonds of friendship and sisterhood. The sorority was established to promote service and Asian Awareness to the University and to the community, allowing for all the different nationalities to discover what other cultures had to offer.
We are the only Asian-interest organization within the multicultural greek council (MGC) at Colorado State University. We focus on our national philanthropy in helping to fight against violence towards women. We are dedicated to spreading awareness in our community as well as volunteering and fundraising. Our organization is also proudly partnered with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV).
