About the event

The Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) has become a national cornerstone activity in which both students and professionals gather with high anticipation. More than 2,200 medical students, premedical students, and physicians gathered in Philadelphia for AMEC 2019 and we anticipate 2,200+ at AMEC 2020. AMEC 2020, takes place in Cleveland, Ohio, April 8-12 and will consist of interactive workshops and sessions that will not only prepare premed and medical students in their journey to become socially competent and clinically excellent physicians, but also provide the opportunity to network with students and physicians from all over the country. In addition, we will celebrate SNMA’s 56th year of diversifying the face of medicine.

The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is the nation's oldest and largest student organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. SNMA’s membership includes medical students, pre-medical students, residents and physicians who together represent a diverse assembly of minority ethnicities. Established in 1964, SNMA boasts over 50 years of service to underserved communities. SNMA is dedicated both to ensuring that medical education and services are culturally sensitive to the needs of diverse populations and to increasing the number of students of color who enter and complete medical school and who will pursue allied careers.
