Everything that surrounds us is visual, and AMURAL is an event that addresses
and expresses the visual world in which we live. Our desire is to
cultivate beauty beyond virtual space. In the city, in our daily lives.
AMURAL is one of the smartest cultural and entertainment events in
Romania, blending art and technology together in a natural and urban
space.
We take upon ourselves serious missions: visual education (of the wide
public and of local artists), access to technology, interactiveness with
the public, creativity and artistic production.
AMURAL is the first and only festival in Romania dedicated to visual
arts.
AMURAL takes the art down from the walls. Behind Brașov’s walls.
The festival of the future is not just a concert with spectators.
The festival of the future is a multisensory experience in which
everybody can participate actively.
And the 14. 000 visitors, 60 artists and 60 volunteers that shared
the experience of the first edition can confirm that AMURAL is
the festival of the future.
What does contemporary art truly has to offer? What does photography,
illustration, painting or design communicate to our society?
What does the city has to say? How does it show itself to its citizens, how
do people imagine the urban space?
What do the passers-by have to say? How do we transform simple spectators
into creators?
Together, amurali of all kinds, we will meet and articulate the aesthetic.
We will plant the seed of creativity in order to leave behind a more
beautiful world.
The second edition of our festival is defined by the concept of collective
action - the people that have something to offer.
Artists, volunteers, spectators, everyone that will take part in the
AMURAL experience will be united under the name amurali. A big family
engaged in the faith of visual in contemporary society.
Amuralii are people that get involved, they are doers, those that believe
in a cause and support it.
And the cause that is at stake is so big that it might appear invisible to
our everyday perception - how does the world look in which we live?
They will also be the first ones that put forward this question and the
first ones that will answer it.
