We are looking for teams of 10-12 to compete in a 24 hour challenge to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation as well as the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska Food Pantry on Ft. Richardson. Opportunities for 10 Food Tents ran by Official Private Organizations will also be solicited.
We are clear to advertise a huge event coming up June 23rd and it can involve all of you! Please share as appropriate and build your teams.
Specific details can be emailed or sent through FB Messanger upon request. Team signups (with names) will need to go through your AFSA Squadron POCs (CC’d), at our registration booths, with any AFSA Chapter 1473 Exec Council Member, or through our org box email. Each team member will cost $10 to participate. ANY Team from anywhere in the Anchorage area with base access can be created and participate. Each team member will solicit for sponsorships for each lap completed, then during the event the laps will be tallied. Goal is to get each team member to walk, run, or ruck enough to raise $100 in support of these great organizations!
Prizes will be given away for most individual, team laps, and most pledge money raised.
Those organizations that would like to have a food booth at the event will need to email our org box *****@****.*** No Earlier Than 1700 on 1 June. First 10 Official Private Organizations based on email time stamp will be selected. Every org will have to process paperwork for the event through the JBER Private Org office.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation head shaving portion of the event will be ran by William Rudelmier *****@****.*** and begin at 0600 on 24 June. We are in need of any Alaska Licensed Barbers that would like to help out.
The JBER Arctic Warrior Top III will also be pulling the winners for their $10,000 Raffle at this event. Only 400 tickets are being sold and every purchase gives you a 1 in 10 chance of winning. The majority of the money from the event will go to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation to continue the fight on childhood cancer and the Armed Services YMCA food pantry that supports military families in Anchorage that fall on hard times financially.
I am the current AFSA President at JBER. We have revitalized the chapter since our exec council was elected and sworn in. We are now one of the largest and most active organizations on the installation.
This is the second AFSA Chapter that I have been elected President for and the 3rd I have worked with. I have 15 years of Active Military duty and have been organizing events for 12 years. I earned my MBA 5 years ago and continue to try to grow my organization.
