Introduction!
The UK Wedding Business is an ever exciting and ever growing industry. With a recorded total wedding value of £10billion according to hitched.co.uk (2014).
But as society has changed, the planning of mixed-marriages is on the rise and becoming more common. I am one of them. Born and bred in London, with parents of Anglo-Indian and Caribbean decent, I was exposed to a vast array of cultures growing up and you have in your mind that you life partner would naturally be from the same culture. 26 years later, I married my soulmate... of Nigerian decent.
Planning the wedding was a task. A wedding in general is, but now that we are throwing different cultures and traditions in the mix, how do we cater for everyone?
Everything not to do with a traditional 'English' wedding was difficult to source from traditional clothing to tailors, and we would run on the recommendation of others, not satisfied but had no other option.
Why?
Working in the events industry as a planner/manager for 8 years, I have wanted to create something special, a new take on today's society as we are the next generation.
My love for giving people what they want in the best way is what I love. And have spent hours and days walking around Exhibitions searching for what seemed the impossible.
This is where Africasia comes in. There are Asian Wedding Shows, there are African Wedding Shows, but what I am doing is joining them all together along with Caribbean Weddings.
For all brides, grooms, bridal parties and event suppliers looking for cultural inspiration, or to connect B2B or B2C!
African, Caribbean to Asian Weddings, find all you need under one roof from decor, tailors to catering and entertainment.
Free luxury goody bags for the first 100 visitors! Entertainment, Bar and a Live DJ throughout the day to create a 'celebration' atmosphere.
Mission
My goal is to expand this and make take the show around the UK. Although any business is welcome to exhibit, my aim is to encourage small independent businesses to promote the brilliant work they do and help them generate more revenue and grow just as much.
As a cultural wedding planner, see some of the work below. Currently now planning a wedding for a French & Caribbean couple!
I do what I love and I love what I do, and as the owner of a small company with big dreams, I am wasted talent not doing anything about it and would be grateful for your support.
