About the event
The A&V art exhibition is an annual event, greatly celebrated by the Miami art community. This exhibition is curated by the students in Aesthetics and Values, a class in the Honors College at Florida International University. Aesthetics and Values examines the vital role visual art plays in the social and cultural dialogue surrounding controversial issues. It investigates how artists have challenged or enforced authority by creating new aesthetics. It further explores how art is used to initiate, accelerate, or combat social change.
The exhibition is held at the Frost Art Museum at Florida International University, a top research university in the United Stated with a student body of 50,000+. The opening night is on April 15th, and it stays open for five weeks.
The annual art exhibition showcases many world-renowned, Miami-based artists, drawing an international audience of 1000+ attendees just on the opening night. This audience had included international ambassadors, the county superintendent, and many more VIPS.

It is important to note that admission to this event is FREE, the purpose of this event being to spread awareness about the art community and to celebrate an outlet of creativity and self-expression.
