About the event

We write to request your Company’s support for our Annual Educational and Inspirational event tagged 'A Book In Hand' LIVE, 2018: A Book Lover's Beach Hangout.

Every year since 2015, we have brought together hundreds of Book, Art & Music lovers of all age groups in a beautiful ambiance to network, read and discuss various topics centered around art, books, life and everything in between.

This year, we will be bringing together various Authors, Readers, Influencers and Book lovers for discussions surrounding books that have greatly impacted our lives this season.

The theme for this beach hangout is "Let Loose". Through all of the hustle and bustle of life, we are looking to remind everyone to let loose, say no to depression and to fully live!

Date: Saturday, October 27th, 2018

Venue: Atican Beach Resort, Lekki, Lagos

Time: 12noon

• Make-An-Impression Fund Raiser

Every year at #ABookInHandLIVE events is an opportunity to raise funds for despondent kids as we empower them for life, buy books and other school necessities.

We partner with our friends at Dream Nurture Foundation (dreamnurturefoundation.org), managed by a fellow Writer and Humanitarian, Seyi Oluyole. Since 2015, we have donated all funds raised at the event to them as the DreamCatchers engage the audience with mind blowing performances in dance.

Our audience ranging from Kids aged 4 – 12, Teens and Adults are very fond of your brand and it is in this regard that we are reaching out to your company for support to make our event a success.

We will be hosting over 200 participants at this inspiring event and would appreciate your Company adding more color and excitement to the day in terms of products and branded gifts as an official sponsor.

Why should you sponsor?

For over 3 years, we have solely hosted literary and book club events, building an effective reading culture in Nigeria. We have solely sponsored hosted Spelling Bee competitions and more for kids and teens.

We seek support and assistance from event sponsors to help us scale and do more for our community.

Amy Afebuame

Amy Afebuame is a Creative Writer, Editor and Director at Aimee’s Library & Recreational Centre.

A BSc. (Hons) Degree holder in Economics, Amy is constantly dedicated to making appropriate use of personal knowledge, skills and obtainable experience in ascertaining optimum results in all of her endeavours.

Currently active in the SME Development Financing sphere, the creativity enthusiast is very much engaged in influencing the world around her through books and other educational resources alongside her office coordinating & investment supporting roles at GroFin.

Her ability to put together captivating words in articles and pieces of fiction and non-fiction stories leave her readers enthralled with inspiring stories to tell.

On a mission to ensure that more lives are changed, she created ‘A Book In Hand’ Forum for people to read more inspiring and educating books, especially those that tackle real life issues, connecting with them to discuss these books and also engaging authors and readers in conversations, so people can share and impact one another in the right circle.

She is totally sold out to developing smarter kids who constantly improve themselves and develop a healthy reading lifestyle through her monthly kids book club activities.

She is an active volunteer at a Media outfit and a Not-For-Profit Relief Organization
