The 5th annual Columbus Salsa Weekend is the biggest Latin dance event in the upper Midwest. Since our humble beginnings in 2012 our event has grown from 40 people to over 125 people.
The dancers benefit by taking workshops/ private lessons from World renowned artists that we bring in, people that they wouldn’t have otherwise met. An Unique aspect of the Columbus Salsa Weekend is the level of interaction, the geniune connection between our patrons and the artists with bring in. The artists do more than just teach our community, they show the dancers what they can attain if they work hard for it. Artsists like Tanja La Alemana(Island Touch), Salsa y Control, Jorjet Alcocer, Maria Ramos(D'COR), Gordon Neil, along with other talented arists from near and far... have helped to do just that. They instill a drive, a passion to better themselves, both on and off the dance floor. Now the dancers that have shown support our events are the inspiration for others; current dancers, those just starting out and also people who have never danced before.
This year’s Columbus Salsa Weekend shows the promise to continue growing, by attracting 50% more people than this past year.

Our attendees are of all ethnicities, professions and ages. However, the one thing that brings them together is their love for dance; whether it’s for their desire to improve as dancers though the workshops, to dance socially, the chance perform, to create friends, to have social networking opportunities or even just to travel to a new place. The dance community is a close nit group of people from all over Columbus, as well as the rest of the country.
We have come a long way, but we still need your support to help our community continue its betterment. Your generous contribution will help us by allowing us to continue bringing in World renowned artists, acquire a bigger event venue to help accommodate our growing attendance, and with other much needed items for the event.

There are 3 organizers... DJ Blooo (Emanuele Rizzi), Carlos Rubio (Salsamante) and Crystal Lindow (Dance Konnection). All of which are in the community as instructors, DJ's, performers, and hosts of other dance events(weekly & monthly) in the community.
Back in 2012 the dance scene was much smaller and had become stagnated. The founders of the Columbus Salsa Weekend decided the best way to help our community grow was to provide an event that would teach and inspire people. At first progress was slow, but it was working. After a few years the Columbus Salsa Weekend became a recognized name in the community. Allowing for the event to grow and influence more positive changes in the Latin dance scene.
