9th Annual PRECIOUS Awards,

London, United Kingdom London, United Kingdom

  • About the event

    October 2015 - The Banking Hall - 14 Cornhill, London EC3V

"I am delighted once again to give my support to the PRECIOUS Awards and to congratulate those who use their talent and initiative to start a business. Your awards will help to create great role models for others to follow. This is vital work and you have my full support."
Rt. Hon. David Cameron, UK Prime Minister

The PRECIOUS Awards is Britain's leading business awards for women of colour.

The event was founded in 2007 to celebrate and applaud the achievements of women of colour in the UK’s business and work environments.

The awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate those women of colour who have demonstrated exceptional determination, innovation, entrepreneurial skills and talent. Now in its ninth year, the Awards is a well-established and respected event embedded within the wider business community.

Many of our previous winners have gone on to further success after picking up a PRECIOUS Award.  Semhal and Natasha of luxury jewellery brand La Diosa; our Young Entrepreneurs of the Year in 2008, now count Sarah Brown, wife of the former Prime Minister and HRH the Duchess of Cornwall, amongst those who have worn their brand.

Our Entrepreneur of the Year 2010, Geeta Sidhu, founder of organic food delivery company,Nosh Detox, has gone on to build a million pound turnover business.

Jobeda Ali CEO of Three Sisters Care, the PRECIOUS Outstanding Social Enterprise 2014, has been co-opted onto the leadership board of a national Social Enterprise community and the organisation recently won a major local authority contract.

The categories for the 2015 Awards cover some key strategic areas which capture examples of excellent endeavour from individuals.

We want our sponsors and supporters to receive as much value as possible from their involvement, and whilst some support us for altruistic reasons, we believe that they can benefit from association with an influential audience and through brand association with our cause-driven awards programme.
