5k For A Paws is a 5k and 1 mile run/walk event to benefit the organization Paws and Stripes, who rescues dogs from animal shelters and trains them to be service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI. The event is trying to spread awareness for veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI and how service dogs can help. Non-profit organizations like Paws and Stripes are essential because they help provide funding for service dogs for veterans that the Department of Veterans' Affairs does not.
