About the event

In 2000, lots of cyclists were doing their laps in Wiltz and all contributed to the success of the famous “24 Stonnen Velo Wooltz”. This event was known in the whole region and saw lots of people find their way to Wiltz. Unfortunately, this was the last edition of the traditional race which had been a big  part of Wiltz for 10 years.13 years later, the city of Wiltz is dedicated to build up a new big sport event. In partnership with AASL Wiltz, the SI Wiltz, the Lycée du Nord Wiltz and DS Sports,  the first edition ot the 24-hour run will take place in 2014 in Wiltz. This will also be the first event of this kind in Luxembourg. On a circuit of 2,2 kilometers, individual runners and teams can participate. Kids to adults, everyone can join the 6- hour run, the 12- hour run or the big 24 -hour run. Teams are made up of 6 to 15 runners. Individual athletes are also welcome. There will are different categories for each race:

• 1)    Charity Run (only for the 24 hour run and open to charity organisations only)
• 2)   Company ranking
• 3)   „Lycée“ ranking
• 4)   School ranking
• 5)  Individual  ranking
• 6)   Women´s Teams (100% female runners)

The goal is to organise a big sports event in Wiltz as well as  to promote movement and healthy nutrition. It is also important to bring people together and  represent Wiltz at its best.
