The Belle Isle New Year's Eve Run is one of Michigan's most cherished running traditions, bringing together runners and walkers of all ages to celebrate the final day of the year on historic Belle Isle. Participants enjoy a scenic course, a festive atmosphere, and the opportunity to ring in the New Year alongside friends, family, and the local running community. Proudly recognized as the longest consecutively held road race in the State of Michigan, the event has connected generations of participants through a shared commitment to fitness, community, and year-end celebration.
The Belle Isle New Year's Eve Run offers sponsors the opportunity to support the longest consecutively held road race in the State of Michigan while gaining visibility among runners, families, and community members from across the region. Sponsorship helps sustain this beloved Michigan tradition and supports our mission of raising funds and awareness for Leader Dogs for the Blind, making a meaningful impact on individuals who are blind or visually impaired. By partnering with the event, sponsors demonstrate their commitment to community, wellness, and a great cause.
I have had the privilege of serving as the Race Director of the Belle Isle New Year's Eve Run for the past six years, helping steward one of Michigan's most beloved running traditions. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in road race management and timing, I have dedicated my career to creating well-organized, participant-focused events that deliver exceptional experiences for runners, sponsors, and community partners alike.
When I assumed leadership of the event, participation had averaged approximately 450 runners annually. Through strategic marketing, community engagement, and an enhanced participant experience, we grew registration to more than 1,100 participants in my first year as Race Director, demonstrating the event's potential and the strength of its appeal.
Today, I serve as the Manager of Special Events for Leader Dogs for the Blind, where I oversee fundraising and community engagement initiatives that support individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Sponsors can be confident that their investment is backed by decades of event experience, a proven track record of growth, and a commitment to delivering meaningful results for both our participants and our partners.
