2024 Greater Sacramento Polar Plunge,

Browns Ravine Recreation Area, El Dorado Hills, California, United States Browns Ravine Recreation Area, El Dorado Hills, California, United States

  • About the event

Support Special Olympics NorCal at the Greater Sacramento Polar Plunge & 5K Trail Run on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Browns Ravine.   The theme is "For the Love of the Game"!   So break out your favorite jersey or sports paraphernalia and represent your favorite sport!

The Plunge is not a swim: It's a party and you're invited to be a part of the coolest event of the year!  Plungers can jump into the water all the way, just dip in and out, or stay completely dry and still enjoy the experience. Every Plunger must raise a minimum of $125 and will receive a Polar Plunge T-shirt and lunch. Cool School participants must raise a minimum of $50 to Plunge but must raise a minimum of $125 to earn the T-shirt and lunch.  Additional fundraising is encouraged and incentives can be earned.

Registration for the 5K Trail Run is $45.

If you're a Plunge participant, take advantage of the Early "Bear" Special and register by December 31, 2023, to avoid the Polar Plunge $25 Registration fee.

Be bold and get cold for our amazing Special Olympics athletes! Register today and make a difference for thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

    Why should you sponsor?

Your support at the Polar Plunge funds year-round programs for more than 17,000 athletes and helps us create an inclusive community where people with and without disabilities can make connections, develop healthy lifestyles, achieve success, and experience the joy of sports.

Special Olympics NorCal puts the “I” in Inclusion; it is at the heart of everything we do. Athletes are at the center of our mission and drive inclusion through connections with volunteers, partners and the greater NorCal community. More than 27,000 program participants make up our NorCal sports footprint. Beyond our Sports program, our Unified Champion Schools and School Partnership Program allows students with and without disabilities deserve the same opportunities to make friends, compete in sports and be a meaningful part of their school’s culture.
