  • About the event

We are the leading network for Australian business students, fostering skill set acquisition, development and industry connectivity. Designed with the vision that all business students should have access to the opportunities and resources to transition into graduate opportunities, ABSA is managed by a team of students and industry leaders who are passionate about student development. ABSA operates to ensure wide-scale professional development and social connectivity through its Member Societies. Our Member societies are from NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, WA, TAS and ACT. This gives us a total outreach of about 45,000 students. Feel free to find out more about us and our  members: https://www.absanetwork.com.au.

Our theme and area of focus for the 2021 Conference will be 'Resurgence'. A very relevant and important issue to be addressed in the coming years is what our world will look like after a global pandemic. How do we begin rebuilding society and what are some of the social, economic and environmental effects of this? How will businesses' operations alter to adapt?

We hope that every student that attends this conference will leave with a better understanding of how the economy has been impacted by COVID-19, the future of work, what different sectors within business will look like in future years and how they can better equip themselves to be leaders at the forefront of change on their journey to forging passionate career paths.

    Topics covered:

    - Fintech Industry

    - COVID-19 Economic Update

    - Sustainable Business and Ethical Leadership

    - Ecommerce Industry

    - The Future of Work

    - Technology and Human Impact

We will have national outreach with students flying in from all over the country to Sydney!

    Anastasia Cao

    Anastasia Cao (President)

I am a final year Commerce student at the University of Sydney, majoring in Accounting and International Business. In addition to my studies, I was an Accounting Cadet at Camphin Boston and Vacationer at Deloitte in which I have developed knowledge and proficiency amongst tax, business advisory and audit. Alongside work, university and ABSA, I have also engaged in a number of other initiatives including being a Chartered Accountant Student Representative, an international social consultant in Fiji with Project Everest Ventures and a student consultant with 180 Degrees Consulting, in which I employ strategies to help with the sustainability and goals of a not-for-profit organisation.

ABSA aligns with my passion and interest in helping others to succeed. Leading enables me to exercise this on a more impactful level, facilitating my ability to empower both our member base and committee team to bring about their confidence in identifying their own capabilities. I also am a strong advocate for having equal access to opportunities to succeed. Therefore, I joined ABSA to help provide these opportunities to particular aid regional students in their journey to forging a passionate career path.
