About the event
The Burning River Kubb Club and Canton Parks and Recreation are happy to announce the second Ohio Kubb Championship! This event is designed for all skill levels and no knowledge of the game is necessary. It is a great way to learn the game, and have a lot of fun.
Kubb (pronounced koob) is a lawn game where the object is to knock over wooden blocks, known as 'kubbs', by throwing wooden batons at them. Kubb can perhaps be described as a combination of bowling and horseshoes with significantly more strategy.
The event will also be accompanied by the Oddmall: Emporium of the Weird - Riverside Ramble along the walking trails at Canton’s beautiful Stadium Park. With space for over 320 vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, games and activities!
The Tournament and Oddmall event are free to visit and watch!

We are trying to raise awareness for our sport in an effort to increase the participation in the area. Last spring we held a tournament that attreacted over 100 participants and attendees. This year we are part of a larger event that is expecting over 2000 attendees.
If we are able to increase the attendance at our events we have been granted the Midwest Kubb Championship in 2018 by the U.S. National Kubb Championship. This could potentially bring over one hundred out of state participants to our area.
The sport has been growing dramatically in other areas and we'd really like to make our area the Kubb capital of Ohio and grow with a dedicated group of sponsors.
Neil WeaklandAs the only Currently Active Kubb Club in Ohio the Burning River Kubb Club organizes and promotes Kubb in Northeast Ohio. It hosts both the Burning River Kubb Klassic and the Ohio Kubb Championship which had over 100 attendees in June 2016.
