About the event
Ubuntu Pageants international is a pageant that celebrates black heritage. It is open to females and males ages 13 and up residing anywhere in the world. Delegates compete in the following categories, representing their country of residence or heritage:
Interview - 20%
Volunteerism/Community Service - 15%
Evening Attire - 15%
Talent - 15%
Ethnic Attire - 10%
Fitness (Swimwear or Aerobic Wear) - 10%
Photogenic - 10%
Self-Introduction – 5%
In addition to our regular competition, Ubuntu Pageants International has it's Batebe Princess Mentoring Program for younger girls (ages 2-12). The two competition days, open to the public are talent and ethnic attire showcase on Saturday and the fitness and evening attire competitions on Sunday. The Princess are encouraged to participate in the talent showcase.
Choices for Victims of Domestic Violence
Our Pageant Charity
Ubuntu Pageants International has partnered with CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence as our official charity. We will be donating a portion of pageant proceeds to Choices raised from our pageant event. We will be donating the following:
20% of ticket sales
20% of ad sales
100% of proceeds raised from raffles/silent auction
For cash sponsor packages that include ads, the above percentage of the value of the ad will be donated to CHOICES. In-kind sponsors donating items may request their item(s) be used for the auction/raffle.
In addition, we will be collecting donations for CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence at our pageant event only. If you wish to make a direct donation to CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence at our pageant, it must be in the form of a check made payable to “CHOICES” if you wish to receive a receipt for your contribution.
Each delegate and princess has the opportunity to learn to give back to the community by earning money for themselves and their favorite charities. All delegates are required to have completed a minimum number of community service/volunteer work prior to the pageant competition.
