Southern Laced would like to recognize individuals who inspire communities through the field of arts. Awardees, which include artist working in literary arts, visual arts, theater, music, singing, design and dance, are nominated by the public.
NOMINATIONS
Each category is open to the first 25 unique nominations. Nominations in the following categories will be accepted from September 15, 2016 to October 15, 2016 via our Facebook event page:
OFFICIAL NOMINEES
The Top 10 Nominees in each category will be announced on October 17, 2016. Voting for these nominees will be open from October 21, 2016 – November 21, 2016 via our Facebook event page. The nominee with the most votes in each category will be the designated winner.
Winners will be announced on November 24, 2016 viasouthernlaced.com and Facebook event page. All winners will receive a trophy.
DISCLAIMER
All nominees shall be at least 18 years or older to be eligible to participate in the 2016 Southern Laced Arts Awards. Nominees shall reside in the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes the nominees receive during each voting period.
Anyone shall nominate an individual for the 2016 Southern Laced Arts Awards. Duplicate nominations that’s already listed shall be deleted. Should there be a tie in any category after final votes have been tallied, Southern Laced reserves the right to randomly select the potential winner.
Please note that entries shall be disqualified at anytime without explanation. Contributors of Southern Laced shall not be nominated, but they are encouraged to nominate an artist of their choice.

I graduated from Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. I received a master’s degree from Mississippi College in Health Service Administration. I am a former teacher for Jackson Public School District. I have completed both the Basic Supervisory Course and the Certified Public Manager program. Currently, I am a program administrator for state government. I am the mother of two kids. We reside in Rankin County, Mississippi.
I began writing poetry in the fifth grade and rekindled my love for writing in 2011. Since then, I discovered my passion for writing romance novels, blogging, freelancing and sharing my personal journey through speaking engagements.
