About the event

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Mediocre Golf Association's mission is to create the largest collection of golfing misfits, hacks & wannabes & dominate the MGA World Championship in Las Vegas this November. Our chapter has an 8-event season stretched out over 8 months. In addition to the 8-event season, the chapter grand slam & the MGAWC, Los Angeles competes with other chapters throughout Southern California for the coveted Copa Del Sol trophy (LA was the inaugural winner).

Why should you sponsor?

For the last several years, the profile of the Mediocre Golf Association has been steadily rising, as has the totality of membership. By the end of the season, the Los Angeles chapter will have doubled in membership size & worldwide, the MGA has been starting new chapters with frequency. The MGA was recently featured in Golf Magazine & our first tournament of the season in Los Angeles was sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods. The sky's the limit for the tour.

The Los Angeles chapter of the Mediocre Golf Association is the current & future home to those weekend warriors who want to play like Jordan Spieth, but actually play like Charles Barkley. Our chapter was founded in 2012 by legendary brothers Paul "Sweets" Villagran & Hector "Boyd (the 'd' is silent)" Villagran.
