2016 Dallas MAD DASH 5K Fun Run/Walk for Music Education,

About the event

The MAD DASH is a first-of-its-kind national 5K fun run/walk held in multiple Cities across the United States at the same time, giving allowance for time zone changes.

This first of its kind event will take place at 8am in every time zone on Sunday, July 10, 2016.

The MAD DASH is designed to promote a healthy lifestyle and fitness in our nation's youth, with particular interest toward those young people participating in our nation's high school outdoor music programs/marching bands, colorguards and drumlines, using the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps as an example of the elite musical athlete.

The event, a fun is a fund raising event for this national non-profit arts education organization which has... molded the lives of young men for 78 years.

The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps boasts 150 performing members selected from an audition process that spans the course of several months. Maintaining a diverse membership, performers join the corps from across the globe each year. The 2014 membership of the Madison Scouts represents countries as far away as Japan as wells as 41 of the Continental United States.

The Corps' Mission is to provide a program for youth in music and performance training through a positive environment that emphasizes character and social development, leadership, self-discipline, and the pursuit of excellence.

Placement Medals will be given for the top three finishers and those who place in the top three in each age group. Participants will also receive a Participation Medal and a MAD DASH athletic shirt.
